London's Arcadia Phase 3 Projects (2007/2008)
Eel Pie Island
We plan to build a sand martin nest in the nature reserve on Eel Pie Island. It will create vital nesting habitat for 80 pairs of the rare bird. The project will include three web cameras inside the structure and one outside so you will be able to follow the progress of the birds on our website.
Once completed, the structure will be carbon neutral as the web cameras will be powered by two water turbines harnessing the power of the tide. There are lots of opportunities for volunteers to get involved with this project: from moving materials onto the island, planting the green roof, maintaining the nest boxes, to regular coppicing of the willows.

Twickenham Riverfront
This project proposes to improve the streetscape including upgrading benches, bins and lighting. It will also include landscaping works including selective tree management.
Champion's Wharf York House Gardens
This project proposes to improve access to the gardens, including the installation of new gates and general maintenance and improvements to seating and interpretation.
Gothic Gardens
This project proposes to improve access from Petersham Road to the Thames Path and to carry out general landscape and streetscape improvements.
Rotary Gardens
This project proposes to improve access to the gardens including. landscape and street furniture improvements.
Riverdale Gardens
This project proposes to improve access to the gardens, including landscape improvements. The consultation period for this project has now ended. The outcomes of the consultation can be viewed on our consultation page. Improvemnt works are well underway on site and are due to be finished by the beginning of August 2008.
Petersham Common
This project proposes to carry out improvements to the landscape and to wildlife habitats.
Radnor Gardens
This project proposes to improve access to the gardnes, and carry out general landscape works including upgrading street furniture and repairing walls.
Great South Avenue (Sandy Lane to Ham Common)
This project, which aimed to restore the wonderful avenue to its Grade II listing in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Historic Importance, is nearly complete. Have a look at the update document on the Great South Avenue
